Lightspeed (L-series).
With the integration for Lightspeed Restaurant (L-series), it is possible to issue and redeem gift cards via the cash register (POS) in your store. The integration works on both the iPad and iPhone versions of Lightspeed. Transactions are processed immediately in your Gifty dashboard. The integration is also suitable for companies with multiple locations and for franchises.
In this article, we will first set up a connection between your Gifty account and the Lightspeed account. We then add the Gifty payment button in the Lightspeed dashboard. Finally, we issue and redeem a gift card to test out the integration.
Installation
To install the integration, we start by granting Gifty access to the Lightspeed account. This gives Gifty the opportunity to communicate with the cash register. In preparation we need the following information.

- The login details of the Gifty account
- The login details of the Lightspeed account
Configuration
Now that we have collected the needed details, we will install the integration.
- Go to lightspeed.pos.gifty.nl and login with your Gifty-account
- Click on "Install" at the location for which you want to set up the link
- You'll be redirected to Lightspeed. Log in with the Lightspeed account of the selected store
- Approve the authorization
- You'll be redirected to lightspeed.pos.gifty.nl. The installation is completed! 🥳
Next, we need to add a payment method so that a Gifty button appears in the checkout.
- Go to the Lightspeed Dashboard and login
- Go to Payments > Payment Types
- Click on "Add Payment" and fill the form as listed below

Issue
You can issue a gift card by scanning or entering the gift card code during checkout. Follow the steps below or watch the video.
- Open the payment screen
- Click on the Gifty payment button
- Scan the gift card or enter the code manually
- Enter the amount to issue, for example 50.00
- Click "Issue"
- Click "Confirm Payment"
- Settle the outstanding amount, for example via cash or debit card
- Write the value and issue date on the gift card
Redeem
A gift card can be redeemed during checkout with the Gifty payment button. Follow the steps below or watch the video.
- Open the payment screen
- Click on the Gifty payment button
- Scan the gift card or enter the code manually
- The amount to redeem is automatically filled in, based on the receipt amount
- Click "Redeem"
- Click "Confirm Payment"
- The amount has now been deducted from the receipt. If necessary, you can pay the remaining amount with another payment method
